Annual net profit is our typical starting threshold. We then look at the underlying business and what supports those earnings.
BUSINESS ACQUISITIONS
We look across sectors for businesses with annual net profit typically over £200,000, an established management team and an open-minded approach to the future.
OUR ACQUISITION CRITERIA
THE FINANCIAL STARTING POINT
Annual net profit is our typical starting threshold. We then look at the underlying business and what supports those earnings.
THE PEOPLE IN PLACE
We look for an established management team, with the capability and knowledge to support the business through its next chapter.
THE APPROACH TO THE FUTURE
A management team willing to have constructive conversations about the future, consider ideas and explore a transition.
We keep our sector focus broad. A potential acquisition still needs to meet the business, management and financial criteria—and be right for both sides.
“Any sector” does not mean “any business”.
An acquisition starts with the specifics: what the business does, its customers and team, how it operates and what its owner wants to achieve.
My focus is on direct, straightforward conversations. I want to understand the opportunity properly before discussing whether an acquisition could be right for both sides.
If you’re an owner considering your next step—or an adviser acting for one—I welcome an introduction.
WHAT WE CAN EXPLORE TOGETHER
What it does, who it serves and what makes customers choose it.
Your role, the team and what would be needed for a successful transition.
Income, profitability, assets and the information needed to understand the opportunity.
Why you’re considering a sale, your timing and what matters to you beyond price.
HOW A CONVERSATION CAN PROGRESS
Share the broad nature of the business, its location and what you’re considering. Please keep sensitive information out of an initial message.
Discuss your objectives and whether there is a reason to explore further. Agree confidentiality arrangements before exchanging detailed information.
If there is mutual interest, agree the information, advisers and due diligence needed. Any offer, funding and structure require separate assessment.
Business brokers, accountants, solicitors and other professional advisers are welcome to get in touch about a potential introduction.
